Birthday flowers
Bright, open and sent on the day — not the day before, and not in a box that arrives at 9pm.
A birthday bouquet has one job: it should look like someone chose it. That sounds obvious, and it is the thing most delivery flowers fail at. They arrive symmetrical, over-wrapped and slightly cold, in a palette designed to be inoffensive to everyone.
We go the other way. The birthday palette is the one place we allow coral, yellow and a little clashing pink to sit together. The stems are cut unevenly on purpose, the wrap is paper rather than cellophane, and the card is written by hand in ink — because a birthday is a person, not a transaction.
Two practical notes. First, if the birthday is today, order by 2pm ET and we can deliver in the city the same evening. Second, if you are sending to an office, tell us the floor and the reception hours; a bouquet that arrives after the recipient has gone home is a wasted bouquet.

What to write on the card
Short beats long. “Happy birthday — I hope this year is a good one. J.” reads better than a paragraph. We write it by hand; give us the exact words and we will not add anything.
If they have cats
Skip the lily. We will not put lilies in a mixed bouquet without flagging it, but say it in the enquiry and we will build the whole thing pet-safe.
Timing
Morning delivery for an office, afternoon for a home. If you do not know, choose afternoon — someone is more likely to be in.
